Case Study

Denver Central Library – Denver, CO
Location:
10 West 14th Avenue Denver, Colorado 80204
Summary:
This project was complex due to many aspects including much site work, utility work, impacts on traffic, structural components, and amount of interior tenant improvements to an over 100-year-old library.
Project Description:

Tenant improvements included interior renovation on multiple floors of public use areas and staff-only areas, installation of a new kitchen to serve a banquet hall, new public café, replaced existing elevators, and removed an escalator to replace with stairs. There was structural complexity to accommodate the new two-story event center by removing a portion of the second floor. There was also complexity in exterior scope as it includes multiple new entries to the building, with build-out of new entry vestibules. Certain components of the exterior scope required submittal and approval from PublicWorks such as the new shade structures, site lighting, new curb cut, and drop-off. We worked with the design team to clarify the required format of plan submittal to all divisions and to refine the submittal documents in an effort to improve the plans review timeline.
